SA CANNES PREDICTIONS BY ADAM LIVESEY – ECD TBWA \ HUNT \ LASCARIS JHB
Cape Times ‘Selfies‘
A beautifully simple visual device, used in an elegant and relevant way for Cape Times. In my opinion this is one of the standout press campaigns in the world this year. Anything less than a gold lion for this piece would be robbery.
VW ‘Street Quest‘
At the moment there is no doubt that Ogilvy CT are leading the way in SA when it comes to merging big smart ideas with technology. This piece is sure to break South Africa’s recent Cyber Lion drought. South Africa’s collective digital fingers should be crossed that this brings home some metal on the Croisette this year.
Engen ‘Fire Blanket Calendar‘
Judges are looking for ideas that expand their minds about problems in places that are foreign to them. This is a beautiful, simple idea to a unique problem, that should get the Cannes judges nod of approval.
Hats off to the masterful directing of Greg Gray, and superb cinematography of Paul Gilpin. This beautifully produced commercial should come away with a few film craft lions.
FRANK. NET DEATH DOESN’T HAVE TO TRY VERY HARD ‘CHOCOLATE BAR‘ ‘GRAND CANYON’ ‘MOTHBALL‘ BY FOXP2
This should do well in a relatively boring financial services radio category. Bloody funny, and beautifully executed.
Santam ‘Back at Ya‘
Such a brilliant response by Santam and the crew at King James. I hope the Cannes judges enjoy it as much as the South African public did.
Habitat for Humanity ‘Habitat House Annual Report‘
A clever solution to a pretty boring brief. Beautiful design, with a nice idea, mixed with technology should be a recipe for success.
VW Genuine Parts ‘Puzzle‘
Volkswagen always features strongly in press at Cannes. This is a really smart, fun way of showing the importance of fitting genuine parts, that should tickle the judge’s fancy.
MTN ‘The Everywhere Library‘
Unique African problem + Smart simple idea + Beautifully told story = Cannes Lion.
